Shipping & Delivery
We ship flooring and related materials throughout the United States and export Worldwide. We offer the most competitive freight rates currently available.
These low rates are based on the products you purchase, and where you are located. To find out the shipping fee for the product you want, simply call or email us for accuracy. We ask that you call or email for accurate freight quotes because of the fuel surcharges that change daily with all freight carriers.
How Floorcovering is Delivered to You
We use some of the largest and most well-respected carriers in the industry such as Roadway Express, our highly recommended carrier. All they handle is this type of freight, which is referred to as "LTL" - Less Than Truckload quantities. These companies' rate of claims or damaged material is less than 1%. We use these companies to get you the absolute lowest freight rate on your order. These companies do have certain terms that you need to be aware of. The following are some of these terms and conditions.
You can choose to have your order delivered to your home, a business, or you can pick it up at a designated freight terminal in your area. Usually, the charge for having the order sent to a business or delivered to a freight terminal is slightly less than to a home. If you choose this option, we will notify you as to the terminal location after you make a purchase.
You must have someone, especially on large rolls of carpet at the delivery location to help unload the order. We recommend at least 4 to 6 strong men with knowledge of unloading heavy material. Deliveries are "curb side". The driver's will not bring the material into your home.
The freight carrier will usually contact you prior to the delivery. We will send you an e-mail listing or call with the terminal phone number and a tracking number. If you have not heard from the freight carrier by the time you have received this e-mail, we suggest that you contact them to confirm the delivery date and time.
The freight company will usually give you the date of delivery, and a time window which averages normally between a two to six hour time span.
We make it simple for you to work within these terms. We provide you with the tracking number and a terminal telephone number in order for you to track your order and schedule a delivery day and time that will be convenient for you. In most cases, the trucking company can narrow the delivery time down to a 2 to 6 hour window.
Delivery Time
After you place an order, it generally takes 12 to 24 hours to process. After the order is processed, it is picked up within 72 hours by the freight carrier. The order should then take 7 to 10 business days to arrive at your location, unless an act of god occurs, etc. We usually tell customers to figure up to 1-1/2 weeks from the order date. This total lead time may vary slightly based on the time of year. Certain seasons are much busier than others.
This estimated time applies to the continuous 48 United States. Delivery time may be longer to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and anywhere outside the United States. If part of the order or the entire order is not in stock, we will immediately notify you and advise you of your options.
Upon Delivery
Please inspect merchandise carefully as to contents and conditions upon receipt. In the event a package arrives damaged, it is the responsibility of the customer to contact the carrier to inspect the package to assure full refund/replacement. All packaging must be retained until the problem has been resolved. All claims for damaged or missing items must be reported to Carpetcapitol.com immediately. 1. Verify Count. Make sure you are receiving as many cartons as are listed on the delivery. If any shortage is discovered, note exactly how many cartons are short on the carrier's delivery receipt and have the driver note the shortage on your copy.
2. Carefully Examine Each Carton for Damage. If damage is visible, note this fact on the delivery receipt and have the driver clearly note that fact on your copy. If the carton has the appearance that contents inside may possibly be damaged, insist that it be opened right at that time, and both you and the driver should make joint inspection of the contents. Any concealed damage discovered should likewise be noted on the delivery receipt and on your copy. Be sure to retain your copy.
3. Carefully unpack and inspect all merchandise, taking care not to damage the manufacturer's packaging. Please also look thoroughly in the foam or paper that may be protecting the contents of the package. Do not throw away any of the packaging materials, such as boxes, instructions, inserts, bags, etc., until you are sure you want to keep the merchandise.
4. Do not let the driver leave until you have thoroughly inspected the order. If there is any damaged material, or missing material, it MUST be noted on the delivery receipt in order for us to issue replacement material to you. If damages and/or shortages are NOT noted on the delivery receipt, Carpetcapitol.com cannot be held responsible for any damages or shortages.
Carpetcapitol.com will make every reasonable effort to replace the damaged or missing items provided it was noted on the paperwork you signed at the time you received the order. No Claims will be allowed without such notes being made. You Must save any damaged material and have it available for pickup. If you submit a claim for damaged material and do not have the damaged material for us to pick up, you will be billed for the replacement material and the freight to get it to you. If you refuse an order, you will be charged the actual original freight cost, the return freight cost and any restocking fees that might apply, which usually range from 15% to 25% of the order.
General Notes
All flooring is shipped via common carrier (freight lines such as Roadway Express). We cannot send flooring via UPS.
